Good to know

BirdyHaus, also known as Weinland Haus, German for “Wine Country Home”, was originally built in 1863 by THP in Tennessee during Abraham Lincoln’s presidency and was lovingly reconstructed in Fredericksburg, TX in 2003. Keeping with the cabin’s original integrity and style, the cabin has recently undergone a careful refurb and design refresh, adding modern luxury finishes while integrating character from the 1800s. The cabin location offers starry, quiet nights overlooking acres of pasture, roaming mini-cows, and majestic old oak trees. Sitting on the front porch, enjoy colorful sunsets overlooking historical German peach orchard with a backdrop of Texas rolling hills. It's hard to believe this sanctuary is located a quick 4-5 minutes to the Main Street action, the best of both worlds! We love spending time in the cabin and have decided to open the doors for other good folks to enjoy. The property is comfortable for up to 4 people and makes the perfect romantic getaway or girl's retreat. We respect our guests and hope to share our cabin for years to come. For the safety of our guests and due to limitations of the property, MAXIMUM occupancy is limited to 4 people AT ALL TIMES and is strictly enforced. No gatherings or additional visitors at any time. While the cabin is fantastic for making memories with your small group of 4 or less, there are public establishments and parks nearby where you can join with family and friends in excess of 4 for a meal, picnic, photos, and good times. The cabin is not suitable or appropriate for children and is limited to adults and minors 13 and up. _____________________ Please read the following disclosure before moving on to the property description. Booking guest will be required to sign a rental agreement upon booking and before access to the property is enabled. Booking may be canceled by host if guest fails to submit signed agreement. $300 refundable deposit, directly payable to StayBirdy, will also be required upon booking in order to secure the reservation. We appreciate your understanding. NO ADDITIONAL VISITORS ALLOWED ON THE ENTIRE PROPERTY AT ANY TIME. MAX OCCUPANCY LIMITED TO BOOKED GUEST COUNT. Guest Reservation will be cancelled and access terminated IMMEDIATELY without refund if this rule is violated. Absolutely no gatherings or events are allowed anywhere on the property. If you are looking to host visitors, this is not the place. If you have a change in guest count from the time of booking, you must update the guest count on the booking to reflect all adults and children, ages 0 and up. Unauthorized guests will result in additional fees as well as immediate cancelation and termination of remaining booking term without refund. StayBirdy's BirdyHaus cabin, also known as Weinland Haus, has been very thoughtfully renovated to include NEW A/C and a whole-home GENERATOR, new furniture and furnishings, TVs, indoor and outdoor games, every creature comfort you could hope for, all while escaping to your own private retreat. Outdoors you will find a hot tub, cozy wood-burning fireplace (available seasonally), and multiple seating areas, to include front porch rockers to watch the sunset over the peach orchard and hills, and a new dining area. We like to sit out on the side porch to watch the deer, birds, and other wildlife that may pass through. Occasionally you may catch the mini-Hereford cows grazing, along with other neighboring livestock and exotics. While you may never want to leave, you have a plethora of options for additional activities and dining nearby. _______________________ BED and BATH > There are two King bed loft suites upstairs, each with an en-suite bathroom. One has a walk-in shower and one has a bath tub. Each bedroom has a TV. > Downstairs is a half bath for convenience KITCHEN Fully stocked kitchen with large RH table with seating for 4. New refrigerator and freezer with filtered water station and ice maker. New and fast-brewing Keurig coffee maker station with coffee pods. There is a drip coffee and French press available for those who like to bring their own coffee grounds. LIVING The living area is cozy, with a 50” TV and comfortable seating for 4. Adjoins to kitchen area. PORCH There are two porches, one facing west for amazing sunsets over the peach orchard and hills, the other facing south. Sit back and enjoy the sunset with a nice glass of local wine as you rock in the rocking chairs on the front porch. Both porches enjoy peaceful country views. FIREPLACE Please enjoy the outdoor fireplace. It’s a great place to relax by a crackling fire and look up at the stars. Firewood is not provided may be purchased nearby at local stores and groceries. We suggest also purchasing quick start logs to get your fire going. Note that the Texas Hill Country is a dry climate and fireplace may not be usable at all times. Warnings and bans are common and the fireplace may be unusable during your stay. NOTE that the beautiful quiet country includes critters. While pest control services are in place, the hill country has poisonous insects and snakes and all sorts of wildlife that you may encounter. Please come prepared and contact us with any questions. Keep distance from wildlife and farm animals.

Absolutely the perfect place for a getaway. Cabin and surroundings were beautiful, cozy very well equipped for whatever you wanted to do. Having owned our own Air BNB we love the experience over any Hotel. This place was EVERYTHING we needed it to be.

Absolutely wonderful home & hosts! Thank you so much for everything. It was our very first time visiting Fredericksburg and I don’t think we would have had the same experience if we hadn’t stayed at your home! ♥️

Sha was fantastic about communicating! We loved the gate remote to help with ease of access. The outdoor fireplace was perfect for our evening. Little touches like the beach towels for the spa, bottle of wine with cute wine spout and just the overall house and property made our weekend special! This was THE PERFECT escape from the busy hustle and bustle of the work week. Thanks for a fabulous weekend!

I had a wonderful stay with Sha. The home was immaculate; just as the photos and description state in the listing. It was an added bonus to be so close to the cattle. I was looking for a bit of relaxation and this place hit the spot. Also of note, the home is secluded, but really close to all the shops and restaurants in Fredericksburg. As a non-Texan, I didn't know that you had to make reservations in order to visit the state parks. Something to keep in mind or you plan on hiking.

We had an amazing stay ringing in the new year! The cows are so cute and the cabin was everything we hoped it would be!! When she says 5 min to Main Street it truly was an easy 5 min to Main Street!

This is truly a gem of a property. I travel often and have stayed in many Airbnbs, and this one stood out above the rest. My stay was incredibly peaceful and serene. The beds were super comfortable, and the hot tub and bathtub made it feel extra special. Watching the adorable mini cows was such a joy. I will definitely be back!

I can't say enough good things about this rental! We were greeted by mini cows as soon as we arrived. The cabin was cozy, welcoming, and well stocked with essentials. The decor was charming without feeling cluttered. Despite being a country cabin, it was absolutely spotless. The property felt very private even though it was so close to the center of town. We would absolutely stay here again!
